UPDATE: we’ve encountered problems after completing the release which have forced us to re-enter maintenance in order to troubleshoot. More information will be posted here as the situation progresses.

oDesk.com will be unavailable for about 30 minutes beginning 01:00 GMT, Friday, June 18, 2010 (Thursday, June 17, 6:00PM PST). This is one day later than the usual release window; we are doing it late due because of a problem with an upstream vendor during our normal release window.

As always, providers can continue to log time to the last team they were logged into during this maintenance window.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.


2010-06-17 – Is odesk.com inaccessible for you?

We’ve been receiving sporadic reports that some users are unable to access odesk.com, or unable to log time with the oDesk Team client.

Our service is up and running, but we are eager to help identify and solve any problems users may be experiencing. If you are impacted, please collect any information you can on the problem, such as:

  • a description of the problem (please be specific)
  • open a command prompt, and run ‘nslookup www.odesk.com’ – copy and paste the output
  • also within a command prompt, run ‘tracert www.odesk.com’ – copy and paste the output
  • log data collected by the oDesk Team client

If odesk.com is inaccessible to you, our ticket system is probably inaccessible as well. If so, you can reach us by filling out this secure form. Your responses will be viewable only by oDesk staff.
